IMG

Christian Aid is a charity that grew out an organization set up in 1945, after the second world war, by British and Irish churches to help people left homeless by the war.

Today it acts to provide overseas aid to improve agriculture, education and living standards in the poorer parts of the world. It works with local organisations over a large number of devloping countries, and it helps to train people to cope with the effects of climate change and the need to handle the threats of natural disasters.

Fund-raising takes places throughout the year. This is promoted in Britain particularly during Christian Aid Week which is the second week of May each year.
