Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday is an opportunity to remember and commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military personnel and civilians the two World Wars and subsequent conflicts. In the UK, it is held on the Sunday nearest to 11 November, Armistice Day, the date in 1918 when fighting in World War I ended.
The day is marked by ceremonies at local war memorials in many cities, towns and villages. These are attended by local dignitaries, former military men and women, members of units of local armed forces (regular and reserve), cadet forces and youth organisations.
In 2026, Remembrance Sunday is 8 November. Our morning service (starting at 10:30am) is to be led by Rev Andy Moffoot and will include the two minutes silence (at 11:00am) and also the sacrament of Holy Communion. All are welcome.
