A Night of Escape Rooms
On the evening of Saturday 18 April, four teams assembled to take on the challenge of some “escape rooms”. That probably is not quite the correct term as in some cases the objective was something other than simply getting out of a locked room. There were four different “rooms” available and each team attempted two of these with a break for food in between.
Each “room” had a games master who explained the situation and guided the team as events unfolded. Puzzles requiring solution emerged and solutions enabled further actions to be taken. The games masters ably provided assistance when required. It was all great fun and everyone successfully “escaped”.

In Concert with SMASH
This year on Saturday 21 March, SMASH staged a one-night concert to raise money for the church project. This was such an enjoyable evening with a wide variety of items including singing, music, monologues, and dance. There was an amazing range of talent on display.
There was hardly a dry eye in the church when the Cantonese choir sang about their need to move and their welcome to Solihull — it was extremely moving.

Quiz Night
On Saturday 28 February at 7:00pm, thirteen teams sat down at tables in the Hall to try to answer a whole variety of quiz questions. Where is your columella? Who attended Crunchem Hall? What did Dickens write as his second book?
Filled baked potatoes and cakes were served up half way through and provided a welcome mental break for those of us whose brains were already frazzled — but an enjoyable time nonetheless.

Family Fun Evening
Friday 23 January at 6:00pm.
It was a fun evening when the Youth Club organised for the church family to raise funds for the church project. All ages of the church family were present, ranging from 5 to 87 year olds, and a really good time was had by all.
There were many activities including: skittles, darts, jenga, charades and quizzes. Everyone was allocated to a table which was hosted by two of the youngsters and they did an excellent job of guiding the older ones through the activities.

Out of the Blue Big Band
On Saturday evening, 6 December, we were wonderfully entetained by the Out of the Blue Big Band as they helped us Swing into Christmas.
As well as seasonal favourites, we were also reminded of the musical greats such as Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller and Cab Calloway. It was a most enjoyable evening.
