Groups

We have a number of church groups meeting on our premises and elsewhere during the week, allowing people to meet more informally for friendship and fellowship. You are invited to visit any of the following groups.

  • SMASH

    Solihull Methodists Acting and Singing in Harmony is an amateur drama group and an integral part of SMC where we rehearse and stage annual musicals and plays. We are open to all from age 7 and offer fellowship to those interested in theatrical activities on or off the stage.

    Rehearsals take place on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings from September, and productions run for one week during March.

  • Pushchair Club

    Pushchair Club is a parents and toddlers groups which meets at 9:45am on Mondays (during term time) in the Community Hall.

  • Soupa Talks

    We sit down to a light lunch of soup, roll, fruit and cake at 1:00pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays in the month and then enjoy an interesting talk until about 14.30. Cost 5.00. Everyone is welcome.

  • Friendship Cafe

    We meet at 10:30am on the second and fourth Friday of each month (except August) for a tea/coffee and a cake/biscuit. It is an opportunity to have a chat, play a game or two, meet other people, and possibly make new friends.

  • Men’s Coffee Club

    An informal and friendly gathering for men, meeting at 10:30am every Tuesday morning in the Church Hall, where we regularly put the world to rights by discussing topical issues.

    The Bible Study group meets on Tuesdays at 10:30am in the Community Hall.

  • Cantonese Fellowship

    The Cantonese Fellowship group meets on Fridays at 10:00am in the Community Hall.

  • ramble
  • Rambling Club

    Rambles are held on the third Thursday of each month. We meet at church, and share the driving to the start of our walk. During the day, we will have a picnic lunch or use a local hostelry, depending on the expected weather conditions. All church members and friends are welcome.

  • badminton
  • Badminton Club

    The Badminton Club meets every Thursday evening in the Church Hall for social badminton. Old or young, all are welcome.
