Bookworms: Reading Group
The Bookworms group started in 2004. During the 22 years that Bookworms has been meeting, we have read and discussed 150 books, covering a wide variety of both fiction and non-fiction – novels, biographies, Lent books, etc. At our September meeting, we all bring a selection of books that we have enjoyed reading over the summer months. From these books we choose a selection to read during the coming year.
At our meetings we enjoy lively discussions, not always agreeing that a chosen book is a good read
! Members of the group do all agree though that we have read some very interesting books that we may not have considered had they not been a book group choice.
We all find our meetings to be a time of fellowship, friendship and support for one another.
We meet seven or eight times a year on a Monday afternoon from September to July in the Margaret Wharam Room in the main church building.
We offer a warm welcome to anyone wishing to join our reading group. The next Bookworms meeting is on Monday 23 November 2026 at 2:30pm. The book we will be discussing is The Kindness of Strangers by Kate Adie. For more details, please drop us a note via this contact page and we will get back to you.
