A new Bible is always an important addition to any church, but our latest Bible shows how our church is moving forward and welcoming our friends from Hong Kong.
Riva has bought a Cantonese/English Bible for the Church. Since today is Bible Sunday, we acknowledged this gift in the service this morning, and thanked Riva for making such a generous gesture.
We aim to make good use of this Bible in many ways: it might be placed on the ‘Sylvia Bailey’ lectern on the communion table during services. It can, of course be moved when that lectern is in use or for any of our readers want to read in cantonese from a physical Bible. We hope to see both readings read from the same Bible.
This really beautiful Bible is on the desk in the minister’s vestry should anyone like to have look at it.
