Messy Church

Messy Church is for all ages of children, particularly up to about age 10… and for all the family. So children, bring your parents, grandparents or carers and we will enjoy a range of activities, have tea and a short worship time singing action songs. This is church and it is fun! We are holding Messy Church on Saturday afternoons so that Mum and Dad, if working in the week, can come too. All are welcome!

In October over 20 children with their accompanying adults had fun and games in the church for our Messy Play Light Party. There were the usual toys and games, and lots of costumes to dress up in … then we gathered for some party games, with team relays and pass the parcel, the conga and the Hokey-Cokey.  We rounded this off by all shining torches in the dark and reminding ourselves that Jesus is the Light of the World and always there for us as our friend and guide.

Our next session is on Saturday November 24th when we will be starting off our Messy Church in the Church Hall with craft and activities on the theme of “A God shaped Hole”. Come along and find out what that is about! There will be paint and mess, a quiet corner and challenges…. followed by a short interactive worship in the church. Then it is back to the church where a hot meal of sausages, beans and jacket potatoes, fruit and cake will be waiting for us.

The Storm on the Lake theme will now be held in a month or two in 2019.

Please note that in December, Messy Church will take the form of a Crib service with craft activities and tea on Christmas Eve, Monday 24th December, not on the fourth Saturday in December.

You are also very welcome at our regular Sunday services, where children are welcome in the service but there is also provision for children in classes and a crèche.
