Messy Church is for all ages of children, particularly up to about age 10… and for all the family. So children, bring your parents, grandparents or carers and we will enjoy a range of activities, have tea and a short worship time singing action songs. This is church and it is fun! We are holding Messy Church on Saturday afternoons so that Mum and Dad, if working in the week, can come too. All are welcome!
Messy Church on Saturday April 27th had Jesus calming the storm as its theme, with all manner of craft from painting wild seas, bubble painting and making a storm in a bottle, to icing boat biscuits. The Open the Book team that goes into schools with bible stories led our worship and a song and we finished off with our usual cooked meal of sausages, beans, pasta or jacket potatoes, cakes and fruit in the church hall.
Our next Messy session will be Messy Play in the church on Saturday 25th May at the usual time of 3.30pm. There will be toys, craft and games and a chance to chat and make friends, followed by tea in the church hall.
This will be our last indoor session but we plan to have a Messy Picnic in the park in Tudor Grange Park on Saturday 22nd June. Bring your own picnic and there will some activities and games to join in. We shall set up near the play park on the grass. If the weather is wet , it will not take place.
There will then be a two month break for the summer and we will resume Messy Church on Saturday, September 28th.
We hope to see you and your family at one or all of these Messy occasions, a chance to learn a little about bible stories and Christian life, have fun and meet other families.
You are also very welcome at our regular Sunday services, where children are welcome in the service but there is also provision for children in classes and a crèche.
