Messy Church is for all ages of children, particularly up to about age 10… and for all the family. So children, bring your parents, grandparents or carers and we will enjoy a range of activities, have tea and a short worship time singing action songs. This is church and it is fun! We are holding Messy Church on Saturday afternoons so that Mum and Dad, if working in the week, can come too. All are welcome!
If there were fewer folk than usual at our Messy Church on February 23rd, perhaps we can put it down to half term holiday and a beautiful day. However, those who came along were made most welcome and enjoyed the toys, a variety of craft activities, measuring themselves and their feet, making scrolls and learning about how Jesus went missing when he was a boy of 12. They discovered that he did turn up in the Temple with the teachers and learned scholars, sharing his insights of spiritual matters. Back in the Church hall, because there were fewer people there, there were extra sausages to share and more cake than we could eat!
You are welcome to join us at our next session, which will be Messy Play, to be held in the Church building on Saturday, March 23rd from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. This is a relaxed play session with toys, games and craft materials with no specific bible theme. Opportunities to play and run around in a big space, followed by tea in the church hall afterwards. No need to register, just turn up.
The following month, on Saturday April 27 at 3:30pm, we shall have our next Messy Church with the theme of The Storm on the Lake when Open the Book will lead our short worship after we have had an hour of related crafts in the hall.
You are also very welcome at our regular Sunday services, where children are welcome in the service but there is also provision for children in classes and a crèche.
