Messy Church

Messy Church is for all ages of children, particularly up to about age 10… and for all the family. So children, bring your parents, grandparents or carers and we will enjoy a range of activities, have tea and a short worship time singing action songs. This is church and it is fun! We are holding Messy Church on Saturday afternoons so that Mum and Dad, if working in the week, can come too. All are welcome!

Thanks to all who attended our first Messy Play session, which in the end we held entirely in the church. There were a few craft tables and some toys and lots of play space. There was a lovely warm atmosphere and lots of chat. Abi led a short session of action songs then we had our tea.

Our Christmas event is on Christmas Eve, December 24th, a Sunday this year. If you are having Christmas at home, why not bring family and visiting family members to the Messy Crib Service. It will start at 15:30 with Christmassy craft activities for all to join in with. Then at about 16:00 to 16:15 there will be the retelling of the nativity story then we will round it off with food for all. Just drop in, no need to register.

We will welcome your support and help on this occasion with a warm and friendly sharing that is a reminder of the real meaning of Christmas as we sing carols and re-enact the Christmas story. We do hope you can be there.

Don’t forget that on Christmas morning at 10:30, our church holds a family service which is child friendly, to which all are welcome. Extra parking is possible in Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, as long as you remember to get a ticket (free).

Into the New Year, on Saturday January 27th, will be our next Messy Play session when we expect to hold the play session in the church with food served in the hall.

Our Messy Church events  are now held monthly, except August, on the 4th Saturday of the month, 15:30 to 17:30. Please put dates in your diary ahead so you won’t miss one!

The exception this coming year will be

  • Messy goes to the Farm :  A visit to a farm on Sunday, March 25th 2018 (Time to be confirmed)

You are also very welcome at our regular Sunday services, where children are welcome in the service but there is also provision for children in classes and a crèche.
